The newspaper GävleTidningar has been a TULO customer since the start in 2008 and they work actively with the mobile to strengthen their customer relations.

– We always put the customer first and we like the mobile since it is simple, quick and easy to take charge of services. And also because we always have our phones with us, no matter where we are, says Carina Offermo at GävleTidningar.

GävleTidningar uses the mobile to get news tips from readers, for competitions, comments, votes, greetings and for password protected sections on the site.

– But the subscription service is the largest. We offer subscriptions, for example the newspaper for ten weeks for 100 SEK. All you need to do is to send a SMS and the newspaper will be in your letterbox the next day. The cost of the subscriptions will be drawn from your mobile bill. It is completely simple and neat and helps us reach more readers, says Carina.

During 2011 the subscription service gained almost 500 000 SEK. Marketing of the service has been done through direct marketing and TV-commercials.

- If we only get a few people to try the newspaper we increase the chances of getting more subscribers at long-term basis. Expanded subscription options also are a great service to our readers. Flexibility and choice is important today, she continues.

Together with the other mobile services; competitions, votes, greetings et cetera gave GävleTidningar far more than 600 000 SEK last year. And new services and concepts keep coming.

– We are active in our work and see a lot of potential in mobile services. Now we have the routines and that is when money starts rolling in. We are very happy that our readers are appreciating these services and marketing, says Carina.
