The newspaper Göteborgs-Posten mobile site and apps are continuing to increase the number of visits. The mobile site, iPhone and Android apps have together with margin passed 1,5 million page views a week.
To be able to read the news wherever you are and in the device of your choice is becoming more and more important. That is very noticeable at GP. With between 75 000 and 80 000 visitors each week GP is more popular in the mobile than many Swedish newspapers are on the web and in print.
- The mobile is always with us so it is no wonder that the mobile channels are increasing their share. If it continues like this we soon have more visits through the mobile than by computer, says Bosse Dahl, head of mobile development at GP.
Beyond the mobile site and apps for iPhone and Android, GP and Adeprimo have developed a image-app for iPad. The purpose of the app being to promote the newspapers price winning picture, reach a younger audience, strengthen the profile and not least to try a new advertising opportunity.
- The image-app is also very popular, among readers as well as advertisers and journalists, says Bosse.
GP focuses hard on developing their digital and above all mobile channels. Now they want to set more records.
- We are aiming for 2 million page views and 100 000 unique visitors. At this rate that will not be long, says Bosse.
